New yoga video’s

Hey everyone,

Anyone any requests, good tips or idea’s for new youtube video’s? Please let me know. I’m shooting next weekend…

Warrior I (for scoliosis)

Hi Everybody,

Here I show a Warrior I for someone with a left lumbar scoliosis. When it curves out to the left, it curves inward to the right, so you want to think about lengthening the right lumbar spine, extending along the inward curve.

I made this video as a request, but I would recommend checking out Elise Browning Miller who specializes in yoga for scolioses. Look at www.yogaforscoliosis.com

Hope this helps!

Turmeric Tea for Yogis and Everyone

Hi everyone, This is what I start the day with, before my fresh veggie juice. The benefits of this tea and turmeric are too many to list, but a few main ones are: detoxifies the liver, helps to get rid of congestion in chest/lungs, lowers cholesterol levels, strong anti oxidant, good iron content, effective treatment for irritable bowel disease, a strong and safe anti- inflammatory, relief for rheumatoid arthritis, etc. Google it to get all the benefits! Than of course ginger is very helpful for digestion, and also a good anti inflammatory as well as an immune boosting herb. you could drink between 1-3 cups of this tea a day! Hope this will help you stay healthy.. Esther

Here the ingredients:

  • half teaspoon ground turmeric
  • half teaspoon ground ginger
  • some lemon juice to taste
  • (natural sweetener, stevia, maple syrop, agave nectar)

Balancing Pose – Extended Hand to Big Toe

Hi Everyone,

In this video I demonstrate a variation to extended hand to big toe pose/ utthita hasta padangustasana. This pose has different benefits. First of all, I like doing balancing poses because it forces you to be alert, present and concentrated. I let the pose tell me about myself…

Doing balancing poses help me to focus my mind if I have to do something that needs me to be grounded and concentrated (think of studying)!

This pose specifically strengthens the legs and ankles, opens the hips, and stretches the back of the legs. and of course last but not least, improves balance, inward and outward!

Enjoy practicing it,

Esther

Yoga for the spine

In this yoga video I demonstrate 2 restorative poses that help me a lot to extend my spine and open my body. Especially when my body seems a bit tired and tight. I love doing them…  but see for yourself!

Yin Yoga for Hips and Back

Hi Everyone,

Here a few yin yoga poses focussing on the lower back and hip area. In yin yoga you hold the poses from 3-5 minutes. It is of great benefit to the body, it works more on the deep connective tissues and joints, rather than on the more superficial yang tissues like the skin and the muscles. Very restorative!

The poses I demonstrate are:

butterfly pose  / also known as  baddha konasana

shoelace / cow face pose

sleeping swan / sleeping pigeon

reclining twist / jatharaparvatanasana

Enjoy the practice!

Esther
