Detox Yoga Video
Hi everyone,
I made a yoga video to help you detox. This sequence focusses on twists, since twists have a detoxing effect on your organs. Also it can be very helpfull if you suffer from wind, or bloatedness.
The poses I demonstrate here are:
half relieving wind pose / ardha pavana muktasana
relieving wind pose / pavanamuktasana or vatayanasana
half revolved belly pose / ardha jathara parivarttanasana
half lord of the fishes pose / ardha matsyendrasana
locust pose / salabhasana
child pose / balasana

Comment by Georgina Feb 28, 09, 5:14 pmI truly enjoy your clear and detailed videos. As a yoga novice (I have only been doing yoga for 1,5 years) these details really help improve my understanding of the poses and help me get in touch with my body. As an obese woman though I find quite a few poses out of my reach and they therefore do not give me the stretch and often there are no alternatives given (as there are no other big people in my class). I would love to learn how to adjust my practice to suit my bodytype.
Thanks, Georgina
Hi Georgina,
Comment by Esther Mar 09, 09, 9:15 amI’m glad you enjoy my video’s.
I will look into your question about adjustments for your body type. In the
mean time, try some stuff out yourself, be intuitive, be adventurous, and if
it feels good it usually is….Move a hand away further a little, or outside
a foot rather that inside, place your foot in a different alignment that you
teacher tells you, just to try it out, your alignment will be different from
the others sometimes. adjustments have been created by people trying it out
and deciding that that works better for them, by people like you who find
conventional doesn’t quite do it for them. Imagine you are the teacher and
you had to adjust yourself…..
Anyway, I’ve put it on my list of yoga video’s to make but my tips will never
be better that your own exploration and experience!
Be well,
Esther
I absolutely love your videos.. They help me so much with muscle tension and my asthma. I can’t thank you enough! And your voice is so calming and you explain how to do each pose clearly. Keep it up! Thanks again, Esther!

Comment by Rhonda Mar 24, 09, 5:07 amI am brand new to yoga and i have tried 3 of your beginner video’s. I need you to know your demeanor on video is very inviting i didnt feel inhibited at all, you clearly explain things and it is a joy to have discovered you. since i am new I was wondering are there any videos i could buy to have at home. This is a new time in my life and i am for the first time in a long time truely intrested in nurturing and taking good care of me. I have had 5 children and been as you can imagine buisy and have let me go, i realized after tring this with you how good i feel and that it is a gentle way to love myself and get on a healthy track. To really take care of me, I do want to incorperate other excersise later, for now i would love to really focus on this and make it a part of my daily schedule which is also a delema for me how do i get myself in the habit and when is the best time to do yoga? Thank you so much for sharing this and helping me discover a way to love myself.
Dear Rhonda,
Comment by Esther Apr 11, 09, 9:53 pmThank you for your kind message. I’m selling my dvd soon, its almost
finished, I’ll announce it on youtube when it is.
when you practice, mornings first thing is great, before breakfast. However,
any time you can fit it in is great! just remember to practice on an empty
stomach!
I’m glad you are starting to take care of you, keep it up, its the best
thing you can do, also for your children!
Be well,
Esther

Comment by Carmen Apr 30, 09, 6:36 pmHi Carmen,
Comment by Esther May 07, 09, 8:29 amduring something like this I would suggest calm restorative poses, The menstruation sequence would actually be ok for that, since it is not too active, the detox can’t hurt either. Be good to yourself, do the relaxation and meditation. Some routines on my site which are good now as well, are yoga lying down, yoga sitting poses and after that the relaxation pose. The warming up sequence and wake up sequence are an idea too. When you begin to feel stronger, you can bring in the stronger practices again.
I’m sure you will feel well again soon,
Esther
