Warming up sequence
Hi Everyone, after a few requests…this is the kind of warming up I would use most days….
In it I use some spinal rolls and twists, side stretch, from there I move into some cat stretches,
downward facing dog pose / adho mukha svanasana
lunges
sun salutation / surya namaskar
Hope this will inspire you to warm your body up properly before getting stuck into your yoga practice.
:) Esther

Hi Esther
what a lovely website, thank you. I discovered you by chance sitting at home not being able to go to my usual yoga class due to lack of babysitter – and had a wonderful yoga evening in the end!
I like how you leave space and time for quietness and breathing in the videos. It is also great to have your recommendations of which videos to link together to a have a nice long session. Well done, thank you so much and long may this continue.

Comment by marina Jun 05, 09, 5:45 amYour classes are very very good. I was wondering if you have a session for neck pains and another thing: a session for elder people who never did any work out in their life….I explain you: my mom is 71 years old and for over 20 years she often has depression. I would like to teach her 5/6 exercises to do in the morning just to start better her day…
I thank you so much!
P.s. do you organize yoga stages in Italy? I would like so much to partecipate live!!!
HI Marina,
There is a yoga video for neck pain http://www.yogatic.com/yoga-video/yoga-for-neck-pain/ AS well, you can let her do some of the exercises of my wake up yoga video. Especially the cupping of the arms and around the sacrum will be good for her to start doing every morning. I will however soon make another video for elder people and people who cannot easily go to the ground. I’de love to teach a workshop, retreat in Italy one day, I just need to find the time to organize it.

Hi Abhilasha,
You can have a look at my yoga video for weight loss. For your neck have a look at my video yoga for neck pain. Forward bends should relieve pain. I came across a story of a woman who claims that after she build up sufficient strength, doing wheel pose kept her pain at bay. I think it is about finding out what works for you, your body will tell you! Do keep active though…
Headstand, shoulderstand, plough pose, fish pose and all poses that introduces pressure to the neck region should be avoided.
Be well.
