Wheel Pose or Upward Bow
Hi everyone, do this pose at the end of your practice, after you’ve properly warmed up your shoulders, upper back, lower back and thighs and groins. Its a playful, opening energizing pose that is good fun to do, not to mention challenging. I love it, but keep being challenged by it. Some people are by nature better in forward bending, others in backbending. For me forward bending poses are much easier, but than especially, backbending is so good, gets you out of your comfort zone and they’ll inspire you to be more outward going! Anyway, Enjoy your experience of it…..
the poses I demonstrate here are:

Just discovered your site–love it! It’s so wonderful that you’ve made all of this quality yoga information available online! It’s a boon to humankind, and I’m not kidding. I also am a yoga teacher, near Chicago, Illinois, USA. Our styles are very similar–I can tell you’ve studied Iyengar, yes?

Hi Lau,
Comment by Esther Jun 08, 09, 3:15 pmJust keep at it, imagine yourself getting up before you try! as well its a matter of building up the strength. Clawing your fingers in the floor can help !
But do keep the shoulders on the back.
Good luck and enjoy the journey of practicing before the end result is there
Esther
Namaste Esther,
Thank you so much for your encouragement.
Will follow your advice and work at it.
