Yin Yoga for Hips and Back
Hi Everyone,
Here a few yin yoga poses focussing on the lower back and hip area. In yin yoga you hold the poses from 3-5 minutes. It is of great benefit to the body, it works more on the deep connective tissues and joints, rather than on the more superficial yang tissues like the skin and the muscles. Very restorative!
The poses I demonstrate are:
butterfly pose / also known as baddha konasana
shoelace / cow face pose
sleeping swan / sleeping pigeon
reclining twist / jatharaparvatanasana
Enjoy the practice!
Esther

Hi Esther,
Comment by Theng Tyng Mar 16, 10, 11:12 amI appreciate your videos very much, I followed quite a few of your videos yesterday before bed and today I’m experiencing some fatigue or soreness in some parts of my body, is it normal or have I overdone my practice?
Also, I have always had excessive fat on my upper arm. The fat will flap when I wave my hand. Kindly let me know if there is any video related to slimming down the upper arm.
Thank you very much.
Theng Tyng.
Hi Esther,
Lovely sequence of poses. Just what I needed to begin my practice with today. There’s no yoga teachers nearby so you, and all the other instructors who give of your time and knowledge on the Internet are greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work. Namaste.

Thank you for this demonstration and all previous ones. It’s really good to come here and follow you_ it’s relaxing and positive in a physical and mental way.

Hi Esther,
I LOVE your yoga series and subscribe to it on YouTube. I particularly enjoyed this video and have recently had a problem with a sore hip flexor muscle. I am an athlete (active in both running and an adult women’s soccer league), and think that I may have pulled the muscle somehow. That being said, I was wondering if you had any other hip exercises and/or advice for flexibility in this area or if it is even safe to be doing yoga when this area is somewhat tender at times. Thanks so much!!
