Yoga after the holidays
Hi everyone,
I made this yoga video when I got back from a holiday myself. I spent some time in London and Brighton, and it was absolutely lovely there, but I didn’t do too much yoga… I expect neither did many of my yoga students, so to help them to get back in shape before my classes start again, here you go….
As well I’m demonstrating basic standing postures and made this the 1st part of a sequence of 3 video’s you can follow in a sequence, to have an all rounded and extended yoga practice.
The poses I demonstrate here are:
Cat pose / Marjaryasana
Cow pose / Bitilasana
Downward facing dog pose / Adho mukha svanasana
High lunge
Mountain pose / Tadasana
Warrior I / Virabhadrasana I
Warrior II / Virabhdrasana II
Extended side angle pose / Utthita parsvakonasana
Triangle pose / Utthita trikonasana
Warrior III / Virabhadrasana III
Half lord of the fishes pose /Ardha Matsyendrasana

Hi Esther,
Comment by marijk gerritsma Aug 25, 08, 4:34 pmLeuk, weer een nieuwe serei!
Liefss Marijk
Excellent routine. I am something of a newcomer to Yogatic and must comliment you on your technique so freely, openly and refreshingly expressed. I am not a novice but negligent in the spiritual aspects of yoga. I was a commercial Diver for a number of years and now have problems with the sacrailiac joint and the base of the spine in general. The consultants, both rheumatology and orthapedic, comment that but for my yoga, the consequences would have been profound. As it is, they advise, that I have the flexibility of a young girl. Nonetheless surgery may be necessary if the risks are acceptable. Morphine helps in the evening and of course diclofenac and pain killers during the day(It is progressively developmental-double imperative) However, I only get true relieve from Yoga but only for a time. Whatever the prognosis, or eventual outcome should be I must expand my Yoga contact and build on what flexability I have. I am an indebted devotee, keep posting please, it helps greatly and since I dont attend classes and being self taught from books over the years,(particularly, “Light on Yoga”. yoga dipika by B K S Iyengar) you are the only live contact I have, being a reluctant participant in the commercial world and distrustful of motives I am glad to have found your site. One futher comment your arms and back are in great condition which is something i would like to develop. Thanks for your site I am relieved to have found it and take pleasure from the strait forward honest approach, dont change. Sri Krishna explains to Arjuna the meaning of yoga as a deliverance from contact with pain and sorrow. I find truth in that when my only other recourse would have been the chambers of the sea. Yours, Stuart, example moves the world more than doctrine!

Comment by natalia Aug 30, 08, 5:23 pmHi Esther!
First, thank you so much for the great web site! I had only tried a little bit of yoga before but since I discovered it I’ve done it every day! You and the videos are great!
Now I wonder, I’ve had some problems with my stomach and digestion, are there any yoga exercises for this?
Best
