Yoga for legs
Hi…, I’ve made this video to help you get stronger legs. I’ve personally noticed that when my legs got stronger my back relaxed more. Also this sequence helps to stretch and open the front of the body. You can repeat this sequence as many times as you wish, I would recommend to repeat it up to 6 times to build up some stamina. Also you can change pace, for example start with 6 breaths in every pose and when you know the sequence well, you can take one breath in every pose, it keeps it interesting.
Have fun and drop me a line if you have a question or comment on how you’re doing!
The poses that I demonstrate in this video are:
mountain pose / tadasana
standing forward bend / uttanasana
downward facing dog pose / adho mukha svanasana
wide legged forward bend / prasarita padottanasana
yoga squat
warrior I / virabhadrasana I
warrior II / virabhadrasana II
seated twist
garland pose / malasana

Comment by Swapna Apr 26, 09, 5:01 amI am very happy seeing all these videos.
I think I really need to do yoga.
I am 30 years old I have lower back painfor 10-12 years).my both knees are hurting a lot(for more than a year). and now for 4-5 days my neck is also hurting a bit.
So can you tell me which asanas are good for me to relieve all pains and is any diet necessary? If so,what are the diets?
Please reply me soon and thanks for all these videos.
I have seen yoga poses for back pain reliever and for neck pain but since I have all these above mentioned pains,I am afraid that one pose might increase the pain in other area.so,please can you help me with that. Also can you show kaichi asana.

Hello Swapna,
Comment by Esther Apr 27, 09, 1:08 pmI’m glad you are enjoying all the video’s. Have you gone to see a doctor with your pain, to find out whats going on? I’m not a dietitian, I could however recommend you to look at eating more alkaline foods, they are better for the body especially if the body hurts, than acidity foods. You can find alkaline diets on google. Some people seem to find relief from pain in taking apple cider vinegar, research that yourself on the net and take an informed decision. You could look at http://www.earthclinic.com
With regards to the yoga exercises, I cannot see from here what is going on in your body, if you are not sure about a particular exercise, ask your doctor, besides that, if an exercise hurt, back off, that tells you something, if it feels good continue… I hope this will helps you,
Be well
Esther

Comment by Lacy Jun 25, 09, 2:26 amI deeply appreciate these free yoga videos. They are very thorough and very well explained. I have recently been told that I have rather large veins in my legs and to be careful because I may develop varicose veins. I know that any strengthening in the calves is a good thing but do you have any certain stretches/routines that you could think of that would be very beneficial? I try to do this routine for legs at least three times a week and it has helped me to feel better and my legs to feel less heavy and tired.
I appreciate any sort of suggestions you may have. Again, thanks for the wonderful website!

Hi Lacy,
Comment by Esther Jul 01, 09, 12:12 pmglad you are enjoying the site so much. what would be very beneficial for you would be to do shoulderstand every day if possible, building up to holding it for 10 min. If shoulderstand is too much, lying on your back with your legs up against the wall is a great alternative. don’t do shoulderstand when you are on your cycle though. I have a video on my website where I explain shoulderstand. Hope this helps.
Be well,
Esther

Hi, keep doing exercises, sun salutations are good for you and the weightloss series http://www.yogatic.com/yoga-video/yoga-and-weightloss/. Eat healthy, smaller portions, lots of veggies, stay away from sugar and too much carbs. If you want to loose weight quick, do some food combining, no carbs and proteins together, so only proteins with fruit and veggies. carbs only with fruit and veggies. So don’t mix meat, cheese etc together with carbs. That helps a lot!!!
Comment by Esther Aug 18, 10, 4:27 pmGood luck, keep up the good work.
Any tips for poses/sequences to tone up the butt area? I am seeing lots of strengthening in my arms, but am looking for more leg exercises, specifically for the butt and thighs.
