Yoga Video for Athletes
HI Everyone,
Here a sequence for athlethes to help the muscles stay long and flexible and not just short and strong. Long and flexible muscles are healthier and less prone to injury. Do this for a few weeks and observe your body becoming more flexible and open.
The poses I demonstrate in this sequence are:
upper back / rib stretch
mountain pose / tadasana
standing forward bend / uttanasana
plank pose
chaturanga dandasana
cobra pose / bhujangasana
downward facing dog pose / adho mukha svanasana
low lunge pose / ashwa sanschalanasana
warrior I-Ii / virabhadrasana I-II
extended side angle pose / utthita parsvakonasana

Hello,
. I have used your yoga sequences and I feel fit and flexible. I am also very active in sports, in particular, martial arts; I take Aikido. Aikido is a japanese martial art and is focused on utilizing the attackers own energy to non-lethally disarm and subdue them. It is very different from Karate which focuses on using the limbs to defeat an opponent. Anyway, to be proficient in Aikido, one must have a broad awareness and reaction timing, and the ability to sync your whole body into concise movements. Is there any yoga sequences that I can practice that would increase mental alertness, awareness, and would help me move my body smoothly, accurately, and as a whole.
.
My name is Josh and I only started to do yoga about two weeks ago…and its great
P.S. By the way, I enjoy your videos very much and i feel that they are very personal and well made
